ITINERARY:
Day 1 – Hola Madrid
Kick off your unforgettable journey in the fiery Spanish capital of Madrid. Join your fellow travelers and Travel Director for a Welcome Dinner and orientation drive past some of the city’s most iconic sites. (D) Hotel: Melia Castilla
Day 2 – Explore Fiery Madrid
Join your Local Specialist on this day of discovery, including views of the iconic Cibeles fountain and Pas.ea de la Castellana. Admire the Royal Palace and Retiro Park before spending the rest of the day on your own indulging in la buena vida. (B)
Day 3 – Onwards to Toledo and Granada
Join your Local Specialist for a walking tour of Toledo. Dive Into Culture at a local steel and, Damascene workshop before continuing to Granada. (B, D) Hotel: Occidental
Day 4 – Journey to the sunny Costa del Sol
Admire the impressive palatial city of the Alhambra. Join a Local Specialist for a guided visit, then continue to the Costa del Sol. (B) Hotel: NH Marbella Access to sites within the Alhambra complex, including the Nasrid Palace, is at the discretion of the staff of the Alhambra. Your Travel Director will advise and, if necessary, adjust your itinerary accordingly.
Day 5 – Cross the Strait of Gibraltar to Fes
We travel along the sun-kissed shores of the Mediterranean and cross to North Africa by ferry. A memorable drive past the Rif Mountains brings us to Fes, our home for the next two nights. (B, D) Hotel: Marriott Jnan Palace
Day 6 – The Medina and More in Fes
Join a Local Specialist for a sightseeing tour through the Medina of Fes. Spend the rest of your afternoon at leisure. Tonight, maybe join an Optional Experience Arabian dinner in a traditional riad. (B)
Day 7 – Off to Vibrant Marrakesh
Departing Fes, journey west through the golden landscape that deepens to rusty red as we approach vibrant Marrakesh. Past and present collide in the world-famousJemaa elFnaa Square. (B) Hotel: Le Meridien N’Fis
Day 8 – Discover Marrakesh
Visit Dar El Bacha during your walking tour with a Local Specialist. See Jemaa el-Fnaa Square in the Old Quarter. Visit a traditional Moroccan pharmacy and Dive into Culture, gaining insights into the blending of creams and cosmetics using regional ingredients. Meet the inspiring ladies of a local women’s cooperative over tea and cakes, on a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience. The rest of the day is yours to explore. (B, D)
Day 9 – Continue to Casablanca and Tangier
We journey north to Casablanca before arriving in the country’s capital. Stop at the opulent Mohammed V Mausoleum before continuing to Tangier. Our unique Stays With Stories is El Minza’h, which overlooks the Bay of Tangiers. (B, D) Hotel: El Minzah
Day 10 – Sail the Strait to Seville
Crossing the Strait of Gibraltar by ferry, we return to Spain and continue to Seville. Consider an optional Flamenco performance this evening. (B) Hotel: Melia Lebreros
Day 11 – Explore Spectacular Seville
Join your Local Specialist for a sightseeing tour and visit the ornate tomb of Christopher Columbus in the Cathedral. (B)
Day 12 – Venture to Lisbon
Depart Seville and journey through Portugal’s Alentejo region. Stop at a stud farm for a Be My Guest experience as you meet with Tiago and Vera for lunch in their family home. In Lisbon, see the Monument to the Discoveries and Belem Tower during a sightseeing tour. (B, L) Hotel: Olissippo Oriente
Day 13 – Lisbon Your Way
Join your Local Specialist for a tour of Lisbon, including the UNESCO-listed Hieronymite Monastery. Consider an Optional Experience to discover Portugal’s ‘Golden Triangle’ of Sintra, Cascais and the Estoril coast. (B)
Day 14 – Pilgrimage to Fatima and on to Salamanca
We trace the path of pilgrims at the celebrated shrine in Fatima, then depart Portugal bound for Salamanca. (B) Hotel: Gran Corona Sol
Day 15 – Return to Madrid
Traverse the Sierra de Guadarrama Mountains to Madrid. This evening, join your travel companions and Travel Director for a Farewell Dinner. (B, D) Hotel: NH Collection Eurobuilding
