Florida Travel

The phrase conjures up a world full of destinations, from the frenetic pace of world-class theme parks to the slow, laid back catching the rays on a powdery, white sand beach with almost-bathtub temperature against the backdrop of the turquoise-blue Atlantic ocean or the Gulf.

  • The West Coast includes TampaClearwater
Sarasota and Naples, as well as the Florida Keys to the south.
  • Central Florida includes Orlando and Kissimmee.
  • The East Coast includes CanaveralDaytonaFort LauderdaleMiami and Palm Beach. All these locales can provide a relaxing … or active … vacation atmosphere – whatever you desire.

Adventure Island Dinosaur World, the Florida AquariumLowry Park Zoo and University of South Florida Botanical Gardens are other attractions worth a look. Or spend a day (or more) relaxing on sandy beaches — some of them rated among the top 10 beaches in the U.S. — of Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Sarasota and Naples plus the Florida Keys to the south. Visit the Everglades while in southwestern towns located close to Fort Myers and Naples.

Central Florida

Central Florida has so much to do, it’s impossible to adequately enjoy its offerings even in a two-week stay. Walt Disney World alone takes more than a week with all its different theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and incredible water parks), while Universal Studios – with its highlight Harry Potter attractions – needs at least 2 to 3 days to satisfactorily enjoy its theme parks.

In both cases, staying on site offers a more thorough and relaxing experience as well as special perks.

SeaWorld and its partner – but separate – site, Discovery Cove, offers an in-depth study of our aquatic world, and Legoland is designed for the younger members of one’s family.
